or i need to broaden my scope to be truisms that have an insightful aspect, created for a specified, non traditional occasion. like "the card for the friend who really messed up", or "the card for me when i really mess up" or "the card for my friend when she got her heart broken" or "the card for my friend who really needs to laugh hard" or "the card for my friend who needs to wake up and get back to reality" or "the card for my friend who needs a slap in the face" or "the card for my friend who needs to be put in their place" or "the card to tell someone you've never told before that you care about them a lot" or "the card to tell someone they suck and you think they should know" or "the card to tell someone they are vain and need to act nicer"

too much in the middle
i sort of think that if i make the topic of my graphic works "my family" it isnt broad enough or specific enough, but just will become boring. if i focus just on the relationship that i have with my mother, then i can focus on the role of the mother rather the role of the mother, father, big brother and middle brother. if i focus on my mother, i would just come up with truisms and proverbs that she alone has taught me and try to portray to the audience the unique relationship i have with her, and how that has been exponentially important in my personal development.
